It was a most enlightening week of film viewing! Maybe I'll try to do the same thing with King Lear and include Ran. 1001: A Film Odyssey is produced, directed and written by Chris, a librarian.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04803620768028761898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622159271440854440.post-43632653153222013782016-04-29T00:37:37.063-05:002016-04-29T00:37:37.063-05:00I second that. It is easy to point out Seven Samurai as a recommendation because it is so accessible from a western point of view, but Ikiru is probably the movie that stayed with me the longest after watching it. Throne of Blood is coming up next and I am very excited about that.TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622159271440854440.post-79343426432876932462016-04-28T20:52:43.541-05:002016-04-28T20:52:43.541-05:00I pretty much agree with you across the board. Dersu Uzala is the film that I always forget is a Kurosawa film.

You don't have my default favorite Kurosawa in this post: Throne of Blood. Truthfully, though, I tend to consider the film of his I've seen most recently as my favorite. The man was a true master. Ikiru is completely wonderful and so different from many of the films he made.

Arguably the greatest director who ever lived.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.com
