I can't believe it's been six years since I started doing this movie blog and I've....I've...still got a ways to go. I've enjoyed doing it and assume I will continue to, but I honestly didn't think I was going on a pace that might take me ten total years to finish! (Ah, 2019, are you really so far away?)
Anyway, the latest edition (6th, if you are scoring at home) has ten more titles and brings the total number of films to 1175 (if you are still scoring at home) or 1177 if you want to count Ivan the Terrible or Olympia in parts. You could also count the Lord of the Rings trilogy or The Toy Story Trilogy as one movie or three...and I'm thinking about this too much (And you can stop scoring at home now).
By my count, I've seen 773 out of these 1175 listings which comes out to about 2/3 that I've completed and about 400 or so left to go...My calculations may be a bit off...but if I was better with numbers, I'd be doing a quantum mechanics blog instead of this one!
I'd like to thank others with blogs on this subject that show me I'm not alone (you know who you are...at least I hope you know who you are!), my family (Especially my wife, who I can picture now rolling her eyes as she asks me as I'm watching television, "Is this another one of your book movies?"), my friends (Though, interestingly, I have less of these since I started doing this blog), and my pets (Though interestingly, I have more of these since I started doing this blog.)
So it's back to the movies I go...But do I really have to sit through all of The Mother and the Whore? And that experimental film that just stares at a tree for two hours? Do I really have to see that one too? And I've started Les Vampires about three times...might have to save that six hour silent epic for last. And Pink Flamingos? I got to see that one again? But there are still a lot of titles on the list I look forward to visiting or re-visiting.
